— The Therapy Place invites the community to lace up, show up, and make a difference at its 8th Annual Miracles in Motion 5K Walk, Run & Roll, a high-energy, heart-filled spring fundraiser supporting local children with special needs and their families.
This USATF-certified 5K will wind through Forest Acres and culminate in an energetic finish-line celebration at The Therapy Place, complete with a family festival featuring live music from DJ Ros, food, drinks, and a kids’ corner complete with a bounce house, face painting and crafts. But the most powerful moment of the day happens before the starting line.
The event begins at 8:30 AM with the beloved Kids’ Superhero Race, where children served by The Therapy Place walk, run, or roll across the finish line—often cheered on by excited families, therapists, and community members. It’s a moment that captures the heart of the organization’s mission: building independence and celebrating every milestone, big or small.
The 5K and Family 1K kick off at 9:00 AM, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities to join in the movement.
“Miracles in Motion is more than a race—it’s a celebration of progress, perseverance, and community,” said Ginger Ervin, Board Chair. “Every step taken helps fund critical therapy and educational services that change the trajectory of a child’s life.”
Proceeds from the event directly support The Therapy Place, which serves over 170 children weekly through physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as specialized educational programs designed to increase independence and improve quality of life.
Local businesses and community partners are encouraged to get involved as sponsors, gaining meaningful visibility while supporting a cause that impacts families across the Midlands. Special thanks to our early bird sponsors: Jim Hudson Toyota, City of Forest Acres, Joye Law Firm, Heritage Landcare and Cumulus/B106FM.
Whether you’re running for a personal best, walking with friends, or cheering from the sidelines, Miracles in Motion offers something for everyone—and a chance to be part of something truly special.
