COLUMBIA, SC – March 6, 2026 — 7Sunday, in partnership with Rice & Gravy Studios and the City of Columbia’s Office of Business Opportunities (OBO), will host the BizArts State of the Union on March 20, highlighting six months of progress supporting small businesses and creatives across the Midlands. Launched in 2025 by 7Sunday founder and creative entrepreneur Deon Garvin Design Group is pleased to announce that Isabella Barbagallo will join the firm as an interior design intern for the summer of 2026.
Isabella is currently completing her junior year at Kansas State University (KSU). Originally from the St. Louis, Missouri area, Isabella will complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design in May 2027. During her time at Kansas State University, Isabella has served as an APDesign Ambassador representing KSU’s College of Architecture, Planning, and Design Garvin Design Group is pleased to announce that Shannon Maria has joined the firm’s architectural design team.
Originally from central Massachusetts, Shannon completed her studies at Clemson University in 2023. She went on to earn dual graduate degrees from the University of Miami in Florida, completing her Master of Architecture and Master of Real Estate and Urbanism in 2025. Immediately after graduation, she worked in downtown Miami designing high-rise/mixed-use/multifamily buildings. In her free time, Garvin Design Group, HNTB, and Contract Construction are proud to announce the completion of Coastal Carolina University’s new Indoor Practice Facility in Conway, South Carolina. This state-of-the-art, 93,000-square-foot facility marks a significant enhancement to the university’s athletic and community event capabilities.
Located just south of Brooks Stadium, the Indoor Practice Facility includes a full-size synthetic football field, coaches’ observation tower, training room, video recording platforms, On July 21, Garvin Design Group and Hood Construction joined members of the University of South Carolina community for a special grand opening event and tour of the recently completed Idea Center. The Idea Center occupies three levels of the 11-story Gateway 737 building at the corner of Gadsden and Greene Streets in downtown Columbia.
