Topic: Non-Profits and their Role in Boosting Small Business and the Community Each year over 480 local non-profit agencies in our community raise tremendous amounts of funding to provide services for people in need. For example, Midlands Gives has raised over $12.6 million alone. To put those dollars to work, non-profits hire local citizens as their employees and also contract local small businesses to accomplish their projects. The NE Connection serves as an advocate for small businesses in our community and provides a forum for education, networking, and motivation. The Chamber is focused on creating and promoting an environment where businesses can flourish. The link between the Northeast region and downtown Partners will strengthen relationships, promote growth, and enhance community awareness for small businesses.
