LCAA Leadership Luncheon | January 2019

The LCAA Leadership Luncheon Series, presented by Schmoyer and Company, LLC, hosts a variety of community leaders throughout the year. This luncheon is an opportunity for graduates of the Leadership Columbia program, and guests, to network as well as hear from influential leaders on the local, state and national stages. 

LCAA is pleased to have Joe Walker as January’s Leadership Luncheon Speaker. Joseph "Joe" Walker III, a notable Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran and businessman, and Richland County Council member-elect. Presented by Schmoyer and Company and sponsored by Graybill, Lansche, and Vinzani, LLC.

Walker served in the U.S. Army and the S.C. National Guard from 2004 to 2012, leading troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. He received both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart and was featured in the 2016 HBO Documentary "Only the Dead See the End of War."

Presently, Walker owns 19 Marco's Pizza restaurants including Richland, Lexington and Sumter counties, Direct Print and Marketing, J.P. Contract Solutions, and is involved in a number of other ongoing business ventures.

Walker was named Young Professional of the Year by Columbia Metropolitan in 2016 and the Veteran Business Person of the Year by The State newspaper in 2015.
