Socially Disadvantaged: (African American, Hispanic Americans; Native Americans (Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, or enrolled members of a Federally or State recognized Indian Tribe); Asian Pacific Americans (persons with origins from Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, Japan, China (including Hong Kong), Taiwan, Laos, Cambodia (Kampuchea), Vietnam, Korea, The Philippines, U.S. Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (Republic of Palau), Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Samoa, Macao, Fiji, Tonga, Kiribati, Tuvalu, or Nauru); Subcontinent Asian Americans (persons with origins from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, the Maldives Islands or Nepal)
Economically Disadvantaged: Net Worth initially under $250K then maintained under $750K once in program Three Year Average Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) under $250K then under $350 once in program; All assets initially below $4M then $6M once in program
The SBA's small business contracting programs include the 8(a) Program for socially and economically disadvantaged business owners, Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Program, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Program, and Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program.
