Gardeners of all ages are invited to experience Historic Columbia’s family friendly gardening workshop!
Digging alongside Historic Columbia horticulturists, families will learn about historic gardening techniques and plant several types of summer flowering bulbs - such as Irises, Spider Lilies, Milk and Wine Lilies, and Day Lilies- throughout the newest two-acre addition to the gardens at the Hampton-Preston Mansion.
Following the gardening activity, families will learn about the wonders of plants and how they grow! Enjoy a spring themed story time in the gardens before participating in a sedimentary sensory take-home activity. Afterwards, compete in a friendly bulb toss and bulb spoon race! The Robert Mills Grounds and Gardens will also be open to explore with a scavenger hunt.
