DESCRIPTION:The LCAA Leadership Luncheon Series\, presented by Schmoyer and Company\, LLC\, hosts a variety of community leaders throughout the year. This luncheon is an opportunity for graduates of the Leadership Columbia program\, and guests\, to network as well as hear from influential leaders on the local\, state and national stages. \n\n\n\nLCAA is pleased to have Deepal Eliatamby as January's Leadership Luncheon Speaker.\n\n\n\nIn 1984\, a flight spanning nearly 9\,000 miles from Sri Lanka to New York plus one greyhound bus ride to Columbia\, SC landed a 17 year old Deepal Eliatamby on the campus of the University of South Carolina. Four years after his arrival\, Eliatamby earned a Bachelor's degree followed by a Master's   both in Civil Engineering.  \n\n\n\nAt the young age of 37\, he became the president of his own engineering company\, Alliance Consulting Engineers\, Inc.\; a top 20 performing company in the state of South Carolina.\n\n\n\nHe has been the recipient of prestigious Edmund Friedman Young Civil Engineer of the Year National Award from the American Society of Engineers\, the Young Engineer of the Year award from the SC Society of Professional Engineers and the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award from the University of South Carolina's College of Engineering. He is active on numerous civil boards\, fellow of the 3rd class of the Liberty Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. \n\n\n\nThis month's Non-Profit Spotlight is the Central South Carolina Chapter of the American Red Cross. Whether down the street\, across the country or around the world\, the Red Cross works tirelessly to help those in need. Serving the Midland counties of Calhoun\, Fairfield\, Lexington\, Newberry\, Orangeburg\, Richland\, Saluda\, Aiken\, Allendale\, Bamberg\, Barnwell\, Edgefield\, Clarendon\, Kershaw\, Lee and Sumter\; the Central SC Chapter of the American Red Cross is there whether your home burns down or a natural disaster strikes. \n\n\n\nPlease join us on January 19 as we learn from and network with Deepal Eliatamby and hear from the Central SC Chapter of the American Red Cross.
