DESCRIPTION:Online registration is closed - You may register and pay at the door prior to 12:00 \n\n\n\nThe Columbia Chamber and the Leadership Columbia Alumni Association (LCAA) are pleased to welcome Major General John P. "Pete" Johnson\, the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Training Center and Fort Jackson. \n\n\n\nOn June 24\, 2016\, Major General Johnson assumed command of Fort Jackson as the 49th Commanding General over the past century at the base. Prior to arriving at Fort Jackson\, Maj. Gen. Johnson served as the Director of Training in Washington\, D.C. Maj. Gen. Johnson graduated from the United States Military Academy a Second Lieutenant of Infantry prior to gaining his master's degree in Operational Analysis from the Naval Post Graduate School and a master's degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College.\n\n\n\nThroughout his career\, Maj. Gen. Johnson has served in principal staff leadership positions\, joint service positions and has commanded troops from Company-level through Brigade and Combined Joint Task Force-level\, including several combat tours during Operations Enduring/Iraqi Freedom in Afghanistan and Iraq\, Operation Provide Comfort\, Iraq and Operation Just Cause\, Panama.\n\n\n\nThe Leadership Columbia Alumni Association (LCAA) is open to all graduates of the Columbia Chamber's Leadership Columbia program. Since its inception in 1972\, Leadership Columbia has graduated 43 classes and over 1\,900 local leaders in the Midlands. \n\n\n\nThe Alumni Association strives to develop skills introduced during the program\, while building connections between alumni. \n\n\n\nThe LCAA Leadership Luncheon series\, sponsored by Schmoyer and Company\, hosts national\, statewide and local leaders. Past speakers include Senators Tim Scott and Lindsay Graham\, Governor Nikki Haley\, Darla Moore\, Dr. Harris Pastides\, Lieutenant General John Rosa\, Dr. Bernie Dunlap and Governor Jeb Bush.\n\n\n\nLuncheons are free for active LCAA members\, and $25 for guests or non-members.
