DESCRIPTION:The Columbia Chamber and the Leadership Columbia Alumni Association (LCAA) are pleased to welcome Dr. Elizabeth Davis\, the President of Furman University\, as November's LCAA Leadership Luncheon speaker. Dr. Davis earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baylor University and her Ph.D. from Duke University. An alumna of the program\, Dr. Davis spent 22 years at Baylor in Texas most recently as the Executive Vice President and Provost before joining Furman on July 1\, 2014 as the 12th President of the University. \n\n\n\nDr. Davis is a member of  the Council of Presidents\, an advisory group that provides guidance to the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges\; the Board of Directors of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce\; the Board of Directors of Comstock Resources\, Inc.\; and is an honorary member of the Board of Governors of the Commerce Club.\n\n\n\nPlease join us on November 15\, to hear from Dr. Elizabeth Davis\, President of Furman University.\n\n\n\nThis month's Non-Profit Spotlight is the South Carolina Youth Advocate Program (SCYAP). SCYAP strives to promote the use of community-based alternatives to institutional care through providing a wide range of therapeutic services. They are committed to helping children and their families in our community reach their full potential. Join us to hear from their Director of Community-Based Services\, Josh Caughman\, on the impact they are making in our region.\n\n\n\nThe Leadership Columbia Alumni Association (LCAA) is open to all graduates of the Columbia Chamber's Leadership Columbia program. Since its inception in 1972\, Leadership Columbia has graduated 43 classes and over 1\,900 local leaders in the Midlands. \n\n\n\nThe Alumni Association strives to develop skills introduced during the program\, while building connections between alumni. \n\n\n\nThe LCAA Leadership Luncheon series\, sponsored by Schmoyer and Company\, hosts national\, statewide and local leaders. Past speakers include Senators Tim Scott and Lindsay Graham\, Governor Nikki Haley\, Darla Moore\, Dr. Harris Pastides\, Lieutenant General John Rosa\, Dr. Bernie Dunlap and Governor Jeb Bush.\n\n\n\nLuncheons are free for active LCAA members\, and $25 for guests or non-members.
