DESCRIPTION:The Columbia Office of Fisher & Phillips Presents:\n\nPreparation\, Prevention\, Policy   A Labor and Employment Law Guide: One Day\, Many Solutions\n\nThe labor and employment attorneys from Fisher & Phillips are presenting practical solutions to workplace problems for anyone who manages employees or makes decisions impacting the workplace.\n\n\n\nE-Discovery/BYOD/Privacy/Presentation of Records\n\nThis presentation will cover the latest changes in these subject areas. Focus will be on "must know" information to keep ahead of things and avoid issues.\n\nPresenters: Christina L. Rogers and Sheila M. Bias\n\n\n\nSC Federal Update\n\nThis presentation will go over pertinent updates in SC Labor and Employment Law. This includes considerations to take into account for wage hour and independent contractors (are you sure they aren't employees?)\, and discuss the recent changes in regards to joint employment under the FLSA and MSPA.\n\nPresenters: Stephen C. Mitchell and C. F. W. Manning II\n\n\n\nLabor Update\n\nThis presentation will cover the threat that the NLRB currently poses for those companies that are not currently unionized. The presenter will walk participants through these changes\, update on current events\, and help to better prepare you against unionization\, recognizing key indicators that you are at risk.\n\nPresenters: Michael D. Carrouth and Reyburn W. This includes OFCCP updates\, discussion on LGBT issues\, Affirmative Action Plans\, and veterans.\n\nPresenters: Cheryl L. Behymer and Michael C. Greene\n\n\n\nHarassment   When "Typical" Issues are not so typical: A Case Study\n\nThis presentation will entail attendees to "think on their feet." You will be guided through a case study\, learning what steps to follow\, information to request\, who you should and should not talk to\, and what to document. Participants will come of this session with a better understanding of how to handle issues that are not so cut and dry.\n\nPresenters: C. Edward Rawl Jr. and George A. Reeves III\n\n\n\nLitigation Process\, EEOC\, Do's/Don'ts   Depositions Gone Wild\n\nThis presentation will actually be a mock deposition.
