DESCRIPTION:Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers South Carolina 5K Run & Walk CANCELED\n\n \n\nWest Columbia\, S.C. After carefully monitoring weather developments with Hurricane Florence\, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers South Carolina 5K Run & Walk committee is canceling the race scheduled for Friday\, September 14 in Columbia's Vista. \n\n \n\nTunnel to Towers draws thousands of people to Columbia each year to honor first responders and military service members who serve\, save and sacrifice on our behalf every day. It's named for Stephen Siller\, a New York City firefighter who lost his life inside the World Trade Center on September 11\, 2001.\n\n \n\nRegistered participants can still receive their race shirts by going to the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center next Friday\, September 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. In addition\, people signed up for this year's event can receive free registration for next year's Tunnel to Towers race. They will get an email with information about that within a few weeks. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation does not offer refunds for race registration.\n\n \n\nThe goal of Tunnel to Towers is to support first responders and military service members who have been catastrophically injured in the line of duty. Proceeds from the 5K will benefit the building of smart homes for quadruple and triple amputee veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation's "Building for America's Bravest" program. \n\n \n\nThere are more than a dozen Tunnel to Towers races each year across the country.
