Columbia architecture, interiors, and planning firm Garvin Design Group recently welcomed two new teammates to the studio. Mitchell Stevens and Samantha (Sam) Lowrie joined the firm as architectural designers following their undergraduate graduations from Clemson University. Mitchell joined the firm for the first time on May 20. Sam completed a summer internship with Garvin Design Group in the summer of 2023 and returned to the firm as a full-time hire on June 17, 2024. Both Mitchell and Sam plan to pursue graduate studies in the future.Garvin Design Group Welcomes Mitchell Stevens and Samantha Lowrie
Mitchell Stevens graduated from Gray Collegiate Academy in 2020 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture with a minor in Business Administration from Clemson University in 2024. Mitchell’s creativity and problem-solving skills drew him to architecture, which enables him to turn visions into reality. Passionate about sports and physical activities, Mitchell was active in various intramural events during his time at Clemson.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Sam Lowrie graduated from Lexington High School in 2020. At Clemson, she majored in Architecture and completed a minor in Visual Arts. Sam served as a Visual Information Design Intern during her spring 2023 semester at Clemson and as a mentor for first-year Architecture students. She received a design merit award during her senior synthesis studio for best social and community engagement.
“Mitchell and Sam are much-anticipated additions to our studio,” said Scott Garvin, Garvin Design Group President. “We were so lucky to have Sam with us last summer and couldn’t wait to welcome her home after graduation. Mitchell is a sharp design mind and we’re fortunate he chose us. We’re proud to have them both on our team.”
